1959 Emerson 911 "Eldorado" transistor radio. While the Japanese were trying to build smaller transistor radios, the US manufacturers were building larger sets typically of higher quality. This radio has a nylon plastic case and lots of 'chrome'. You can see some cost-cutting; most of the chrome is actually plastic.
